Samovar Tea Pot hand made by Russian Jewish Immigrants on New York's Lower East Side (c. 1880-1910). Beautiful Gold Brass with Copper lid. Fits Samovar crown 4.0" or larger. $399.00

These brass and copper Samovar tea pots  ( C, J, K, P, Q) were hand made by the Jewish Immigrants on Allen Street on New York's Lower East Side from 1880 through the turn of the Century.  At the time of the Great Immigration, Allen Street was known as "Brass Town" for the proliferation   of fine metalwork being done there by the thousands of Jewish Immigrants from Russia and Poland who brought their craft with them from the Old Country.  The Lower East Side of New York is now an extension of Chinatown. Where once hundreds of Jewish metalsmiths were busy at their craft in over 300 shops, now there are none.
